When planning our bathroom renovations, I fell in love with Anthropologie’s vintage cameo wallpaper (above). However, I was a few years late on that wagon and found out it was no longer in production (insert defeat face). I took to the great WWW on the hunt for a similar style and landed on the DIY girl’s wallpaper mecca: Spoonflower.com. The site sells custom fabric, wallpaper and decals from indie designers. And- are you ready?- it even lets you upload your own design! That’s amazing if you have artistic talent. I don’t so I just ordered a sample of the most amazingly perfect wallpaper: vintage cameo hounds!
Here’s the buzzkill: Frank wasn’t into the whole wallpaper hanging part of project bathroom renovation. I reluctantly agreed that it would be a lot of work, though I did try to convince him to do just one wall. In the end, I framed the generous wallpaper sample. It’s the perfect touch. Now that I think about it, that pattern would be too overwhelming in our small space anyway.
Wallpaper cheat sheet: Order a sample and frame it. You’ll get the same effect with less mess and stress. Bonus, you’ll save a ton of money. Cool wallpaper is pricey but $5 samples are nicey.
